Chandigarh to remain Haryana’s capital: Hooda
Our Correspondent

Abohar, December 18
The Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Bhupinder Singh Hooda, has ruled out the possibility of selecting any town in the state to raise the capital. He differed with those who talked of having a separate high court for Haryana in any other city. Addressing a press conference here yesterday he said Chandigarh would continue to be the Capital of Haryana, and the high court would be set up there itself.

The Punjab police gave the guard of honour to Mr Hooda on his arrival at the canal rest house. Mr Virendra Kataria, former PPCC president and MP was among those who received the Chief Minister. Hooda was here to attend the wedding anniversary of his daughter.

On the sharing of water with neighboring states, Mr Hooda said he expected things to settle in Haryana’s favour.

Mr Hooda refused to comment on the contents of a letter written by the national president of the Youth Congress, Mr Surjewala, regarding Mr Jagat Singh’s visit to Iran and said let Mr Surjewala speak on it. The Chief Minister claimed that the families affected in the Gohana incident were satisfied with the state government in ordering a CBI probe.
